Synopsis
La defensa, por la libertad reviews the history of the Spanish legal profession from the mid-1960s to 1978. The documentary tells the story of lawyers committed to the cause of freedom: because they were imprisoned for practising their profession with dignity, because they were savagely murdered and lost their lives (as happened in Atocha 55) and because, giving a clear example of civic values and courage, they were able to set aside their ideological differences in order to fight together for a common goal: the end of dictatorship and the construction of a democratic State in Spain.
